Plot
Twist, a magazine, looks at popular culture and celebrities. The magazine focuses on teen heartthrobs, examining personal stories and accounts of their relationship status. Complete with bright bold pictures of the celebrities, one human interest story, and quizzes throughout, the magazine allows readers to be in the know of their favorite actors, musicians and socialites. The magazine also provides articles which try to teach readers tips on fashion, relationship advice, and family advice. The magazine also allows readers to write in their opinions on fashion, and most embarrassing moments. Ultimately, readers who want to stay up to date with celebrity relationships, upcoming projects, and gossip should enjoy this magazine.

Review
The magazine is simply a gossip magazine with a conscious. Aware of its readers, the magazine focuses on giving what the people want, promoting current stars such as Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner, the Jonas Brothers, and Justin Beiber, among others. The language also used is very much geared towards the tween demographics, shortening each person to just a given name and abbreviating common words such as “perf” from perfect, and “bf” for boyfriend. While this can be a bit confusing to those not familiar with the slang or the celebrities, the magazine is specific to the tween demographics. Ultimatley, Twist is a harmless magazine, a small window into celebrities’ lives, while not appearing as cutthroat as some of the adult gossip magazines such as the National Enquirer.

Personal thoughts
I hate to be judgmental, but this was painful to read. On the other hand, I remember being in junior high and seeing girls buy these magazines just to put pictures of their favorite actors on their school binders. I have a feeling that not much has changed.
